2022年度词汇｜柯林斯词典：Permacrisis（长期危机）

近日，柯林斯英词典发布了2022年的年度词汇：permacrisis。

《柯林斯词典》将“Permacrisis”定义为：

an extended period of instability and insecurity, especially one resulting from a series of catastrophic events.

“柯林斯学习”公司总经理亚历克斯 比克罗夫特在一份声明中表示，语言可以成为反映社会现状的一面镜子。2020 年，疫情在全球蔓延，《柯林斯词典》选择了“Lockdown（封锁）”作为年度词；2021年，元宇宙概念的大火，让“NFT（非同质化通证）”成为了年度词汇。

此外，入选柯林斯词典今年的年度词汇榜单的，还有Kyiv（基辅）、Partygate（聚会门）、splooting、warm bank（取暖银行）、Carolean（查尔斯）、lawfare（法律战）、quiet quitting（职场摸鱼）、sportswashing（体育洗白）、vibe shift（氛围转变）等词汇，也入选2022年度热词榜单。

Carolean

The historic moment of the Queen’s death in September has also been marked as “Carolean” is added to the lexicon, signifying the end of the second Elizabethan era and the beginning of the reign of King Charles.

“Carolean（卡洛琳）”（查尔斯的拉丁文）一词也在名单上，英国女王伊丽莎白二世于今年9月去世后，该词标志着伊丽莎白二世时代的结束和查尔斯成为国王的开始。

“Kyiv”made the list after the name of the Ukrainian capital came to symbolise the country’s stand against Russian aggression.

“Partygate” refers to the scandal of social gatherings in Downing Street during the pandemic, contravening public health rules and contrasting markedly with most people’s sense of isolation and loss.

Partygate（聚会门）指的是英国前首相鲍里斯约翰逊及其同事无视公共卫生限制，在首相府唐宁街（Downing Street）10号大肆举行社交聚会而引发政治丑闻。与此同时，普通民众则只能居家，损失惨重。

The personal impact of the ongoing crises has also influenced the list with the addition of “quiet quitting” – the act of doing one’s basic duties at work and no more.

“Quiet quitting（职场摸鱼）”是新增的词汇，词典对该词的释义是年轻的Z 世代和千禧一代职场人拒绝加班、追求生活质量的行为。

splooting

“Splooting” relating to animals stretching themselves out in order to cool down – a phenomenon seen frequently during this summer’s intense heat.

“Splooting”指的是动物在高温的天气中，为降温伸展四肢的姿势，令宠物主人和旁观者很开心，这个场景在今年炎热的夏季频看到。

Sportswashing: The sponsorship or promotion of sporting events in order to enhance a tarnished reputation or distract attention from a controversial activity.
